6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. (Line will be closed at 8:30 p.m.)
TWO nights of FRIGHTS!
Guests of Forest of Fear will witness the transformation of Loyd Park’s campgrounds into a drive-through Halloween experience like no other – all from the safety of their vehicles! This year’s event will be a drive-through-only experience. Hayrides, concessions, and other out-of-car features will not be offered this year, and personal trailers will not be allowed for use. Admission is just $15 per vehicle. Restrooms are available throughout the park. Call 972-237-4120 for more information or visit
Due to expected long wait times, lake parks will place a marked truck in line at 8:30 p.m. indicating last car in line. No additional cars in line behind the marked truck will be admitted into the park
Forest of Fear is a very popular event. Typically, we see about 5,000 people per weekend. Guests should be prepared for up to a 3-hour experience if they want to take in the entire park. However, because the park is laid out in “loops”, you are not forced to drive through the entire thing. So, for those looking for a shorter experience, they have this option available. Typically, each “loop” takes about 20-30 minutes to drive, give or take.
Fee: $15/vehicle park entry fee

8 Tips to Stay Hydrated

Is your family drinking enough water? Given that most processes within our body are dependent upon water, we need to stay hydrated with 4-8 cups of water every day to be healthy and focused. Here are some simple tips for staying hydrated throughout the day:

  1. Keep water handy in a reusable water bottle. (Bonus: Let kids pick out their own water bottle!)
  2. Try drinking a glass of water with every meal.
  3. Jazz up water with a squeeze of lemon or lime juice or by adding fruit slices/frozen berries.
  4. Low-fat milk, fruits, and veggies are also good sources of water!
  5. Don’t wait until you are thirsty to drink; being thirsty means you are probably already dehydrated.
  6. Drink more water when it is hot and when you are sick or physically active.
  7. Replace sodas and sugary sports drinks with sparkling water.
  8. Adults and teens can encourage younger children by drinking water with them.
