El Centro de eventos de Veterans Park est\u00e1 en 925 Conover Dr., Grand Prairie, TX 75051. Esta instalaci\u00f3n est\u00e1 frente al Veterans Memorial y es utilizada por organizaciones e individuos de veteranos locales. El Veterans Memorial, ubicado detr\u00e1s del Veterans Park Event Center, consta de cinco columnas revestidas de granito que representan cada rama militar de los EE. UU. Las columnas est\u00e1n grabadas con los nombres, rangos y fechas de muerte de los 51 veteranos de Grand Prairie perdidos durante el servicio militar. La construcci\u00f3n comenz\u00f3 en octubre de 2004 y la inspecci\u00f3n final se complet\u00f3 el 6 de mayo. Dise\u00f1ado por el personal de la ciudad y Schrickel, Rollins & Associates, el proyecto fue financiado por Grand Prairie Sports Development Corporation, Grand Prairie Rotary Club, Grand Prairie Metro Rotary. Club, la ciudad y los ciudadanos, que adem\u00e1s aportaron muchas horas de voluntariado.<\/p>\n

Sobre la dedicaci\u00f3n<\/strong>
Alrededor de 450 personas se reunieron en un servicio de dedicaci\u00f3n el D\u00eda de los Ca\u00eddos en 2005 para honrar a los veteranos de la ciudad y celebrar la finalizaci\u00f3n del Monumento a los Veteranos de Grand Prairie. El servicio incluy\u00f3 una salva de 21 ca\u00f1onazos y un sobrevuelo del F-16 por parte del 457.\u00ba Escuadr\u00f3n de Cazas del Comando de Reserva de la Fuerza A\u00e9rea para rendir homenaje a quienes perdieron la vida sirviendo en las fuerzas armadas.<\/p>\n

"Me complace que la ciudad est\u00e9 haciendo algo para reconocer a los veteranos", dijo Darin Wilson, un residente de Grand Prairie que sirvi\u00f3 en el ej\u00e9rcito de 1979 a 1985.
