The Summit 50+ Recreation Center in Grand Prairie Texas is the perfect place for active adults over 50 years old to enhance their health and well-being. Located at [street address], The Summit offers a wide range of amenities and activities designed to help members stay fit, healthy, and engaged.
At The Summit, members can enjoy a variety of fitness equipment, including treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, weight machines, free weights, and more. The facility also features an Olympic-sized pool with lap lanes and a diving board; an indoor walking track; a state-of-the-art fitness center; and outdoor recreational activities such as basketball courts and sand volleyball courts.
In addition to physical activities, The Summit offers fun classes and social events that are open to members. These include pottery classes, painting classes, cooking classes, workshops on health topics such as nutrition or stress management, seminars on financial planning or retirement planning—and much more!
The Summit’s friendly staff provides excellent customer service and creates a positive atmosphere for everyone who visits the facility. With its reasonable membership fee structure and convenient hours of operation (Mon-Thurs 5:00am-10:00pm; Fri 5:00am-8:00pm; Sat 8:00am-6:00pm; Sun 12:00pm – 6:00pm). The Grand Prairie Parks, Arts and Recreation Department opened the doors to The Summit, on May 24, 2010. The $23 million-dollar, 60,000 square foot facility located in Epic Central is designed specifically for active adults ages 50 and older.

Membership Fee Scholarship
The City of Grand Prairie provides scholarships for part or all of the membership fees for those residents of Grand Prairie who are in need of financial support. This facility is dedicated to Grand Prairie residents who are 50 years and over and is committed to assure that each and every one has the ability to enjoy The Summit.
Supplemental Insurances Accepted
Must bring valid photo ID and insurance card. If you have either of these supplemental insurances, you will receive an annual membership:

Volunteer Opportunities
The Summit offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities from working at the front desk, to greeting members, food service, giving tours of the facility, picking up members in our golf carts and teaching new skills and trades to others. Please ask our staff about all the exciting details on how to become a volunteer at The Summit.
