The Tony Shotwell Life Center (formerly Bowles Life Center) is one of Grand Prairie’s beautiful facilities, and its purpose stretches beyond recreation. In addition to the full-size basketball court, game room, weight room with state-of-the-art fitness equipment, two meeting rooms, multipurpose room, aerobics room, men’s and women’s showers, and locker rooms, it also has a branch library with a public computer lab, This facility truly is a center aimed at improving the quality of our citizens’ lives.

 

In the event of inclement weather, holiday hours, or other facility closures, updates will be listed on the Grand Prairie Parks, Arts and Recreation Department homepage linked below.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

If your child attends Garcia Elementary School, join our After School Program. We pick up, have snacks, help with homework, and finish the day with fun activities. Pick-up is as late as 6 pm.
 
Price: Registration is $10 and the program is $25 per week

Memberships

The Texas Plan allows for access to the Tony Shotwell Life Center membership includes a facility card, access to Dalworth and Charley Taylor Recreation Centers, Gym Access, Access to Game Room, Classes/Programs, and Meeting Rental.  Weight-room memberships are available for $4 (Grand Prairie residents) and $10 (non-residents).

The Prairie Plan allows for access into the building and use of the game room, study room, and gymnasium during open play, and it allows for meeting room rentals and program registration. The Prairie Plan can be used at Tony Shotwell Life Center, Dalworth Recreation Center, and Charley Taylor Recreation Center.

rental fees

All Rental Fees are due at the time of reservation. Rentals must be made at least two weeks before the event. Cancellations must be completed one week before the event for a full refund.
