CURRENT & UPCOMING YOUTH SPORTS LEAGUES

The Grand Prairie Parks, Arts & Recreation Department offers many sports leagues, clinics, and classes that focus on fundamentals, principals, rules, and sportsmanship.

Sports are a great way for youth to learn teamwork, and develop a healthy sense of competitiveness. Not to mention sports give youth the opportunity to strengthen their bodies, and develop into healthy young men and women.

National Recreation Fortnite Summer League

  • Represent Grand Prairie against teams from other parks and rec departments around the country!
  • Cost: $5 per player
  • Ages: 12 – 18
  • Format: all games will be hosted virtually. Players must have the game, an internet connection, and be able to play from home.
  • Game days: Wednesday at 6:00 CST, July 14 – August 18.
  • Discord: REQUIRED for league participation.
  • Register as an individual looking for a team, or a team of 5-7 players.
  • Qualifying teams will participate in a national post season tournament, August 21.

Kidz Love Soccer Fall Clinics:

Kidz Love Soccer
Since 1979, Kidz Love Soccer has been dedicated to teaching children the world’s most popular sport within a nurturing, recreational environment. A typical session experience includes age appropriate activities: skill demonstrations, and fun games.

Mommy/Daddy & Me Soccer
Ages 2 – 3.5: Here is your chance to join in your toddler’s introduction to the world’s most popular sport. You’ll participate in fun, age-appropriate activities, and help your child to develop their motor and socialization skills. Each week the coach introduces and demonstrates several soccer-themed games over Zoom. Adult participation is required.

Tot-Soccer
Ages 3.5 – 4: Learn core skills and develop a soccer foundation, while playing at home with an adult while we coach over Zoom. Our time-tested, age specific curriculum builds confidence and promotes physical development. Tot-Soccer focuses on helping kids develop their large motor skills through demonstrations and entertaining games like Rainbow Quest! Adult participation is required.

Pre-Soccer
Ages 4-5: Learn core skills and develop a soccer foundation, while playing at home with an adult while we coach over Zoom. Our time-tested, age specific curriculum builds confidence and promotes physical development. Pre-Soccer focuses on helping kids develop their large motor skills through demonstrations and entertaining games like Downtown Traffic! Adult participation is required.

Soccer 1
Ages: 5-6: Learn dribbling, passing, defense and shooting goals! Fun skill games are played at every session, working with our coaches online over Zoom. Concepts of small-sided soccer matches will be introduced gradually. Perfect for first time players while being fun and engaging for kids with some experience. Parents are invited to play along.

Soccer 2
Ages 7-10: Learn dribbling, passing, defense and shooting goals! Fun skill games are played at every session, working with our coaches online over Zoom. Concepts of soccer matches will be introduced. Perfect for first time players while being fun and engaging for kids with some experience. Parents are invited to play along.

Youth Spring Soccer League 2021 - Ages 3-5

Ages 3-5: Our soccer league is a great environment for your child to learn fundamental soccer skills. We are a noncompetitive league, so your child will be able to learn teamwork, soccer skills, and leadership in a safe and active learning environment.

Registration Dates:
January 1 – March 8

Season:
Practices begin March 22
Games begin April 3

Teams will play 6 games.

Game Days:
Saturdays. Game start times range 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Weeknights possible for rain-out games.

Practices:
One practice per week on weeknight determined by coach. Times ranging 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Practices begin the week of March 22.

Game and Practice Location:
Mountain Creek Soccer Complex

Registration Fee:
$65 per player: Fee includes uniform and trophy.
