CURRENT & UPCOMING YOUTH SPORTS LEAGUES

The Grand Prairie Parks, Arts & Recreation Department offers many sports leagues, clinics, and classes that focus on fundamentals, principals, rules, and sportsmanship.

Sports are a great way for youth to learn teamwork, and develop a healthy sense of competitiveness. Not to mention sports give youth the opportunity to strengthen their bodies, and develop into healthy young men and women.

Virtual eSports

GP PARD is launching eSports leagues for ages 13 and up!

  • All games will be played online using default online settings.
  • FIFA 20 games will be on Tuesday nights at 7:00pm for eight weeks.
  • NBA2K20 games will be played on Thursday nights at 7:00pm for eight weeks.
  • Players will provide their gamertag/PSN ID, and their gamertag/PSN ID will be listed on the schedule.
  • Schedule and standings will be posted at teamsideline.com/gptx. Schedule is 6 regular season games and the 7th week will be championship and consolation games.
  • After a game is played, each player will email abyrd@gptx.org and list the following: the game score, the teams used by both players, and any questions/comments/concerns
  • For FIFA 20 and 2K20, players may use any current team, but may only use a certain team 2 times in one season. Using a team a 3rd time will result in a forfeit. No international teams allowed in FIFA 20.
  • If a player fails to be online and ready to play by 7:15pm, they will forfeit the game. If a player’s opponent does not show up, the time needs to be recorded and still emailed to abyrd@gptx.org
  • Foul or crude language, or other verbal abuse will NOT be tolerated. Up to three reports of verbal misconduct against a player will result in removal from the league.
  • These leagues are FOR FUN! Standings will be kept, but there are no awards.
  • Registration ENDS September 30 and space is limited, so register soon!
  • Season: Oct. 5—Nov. 19 (7 weeks)

Mommy/Daddy & Me Soccer
Ages 2 – 3.5: Here is your chance to join in your toddler’s introduction to the world’s most popular sport. You’ll participate in fun, age-appropriate activities, and help your child to develop their motor and socialization skills. Each week the coach introduces and demonstrates several soccer-themed games over Zoom. Adult participation is required.

Tot-Soccer focuses on helping kids develop their large motor skills through demonstrations and entertaining games like Rainbow Quest! Adult participation is required.

Youth Fall Soccer League

Ages 4-16: This soccer league is a great environment for your child to learn and develop soccer skills. The league will promote sportsmanship, self-confidence and skill development in an active and safe learning environment. See you on the field!

Registration Dates:
July 1 – August 22

Season:
First game is September 12. Teams will play 8 games.

Game Days:
Saturdays. Weeknights possible for rain-out games.

Practices:
One practice per week on weeknight determined by coach. Practices begin the week of August 31.

Mountain Creek Soccer Complex

Registration Fee:
$75 per player: Fee includes uniform.
